Философия образования - общая теория, рассматривающая образование с позиций аксиологии, онтологии, гносеологии, антропологии как особую область социокультурной практики, функционирующую на принципах сочетания индивидуального и соц. в образовании, целостности, универсальности и фундаментальности, профессионализма и нравственности, гуманизации и гуманитаризации, единства национально-государственных и общемировых начал в образовании (подход, разрабатываемый Н.П.Пищулиным и Ю.А.Огородниковым). Исходное значение для педагогической науки имеет философское знание.
