Any substance (impact) introduced by a man having a negative influence on the environment

a substance which is capable to cause any harm to health of the people or environment. In legislation of a number of countries (the USA, Germany, Canada, Japan, Russia) there are defined particular P., the emission of which should be kept under the control and when the concentration of them exceeds the established norms, they are considered as pollution.
